Dave is a musician and music instructor with over two decades of teaching experience. From his own studio to private and public schools, Dave has taught private lessons on guitar, bass, string bass, piano, trombone, trumpet, and tuba. He teaches across all styles and at all levels of playing.
In addition to teaching private lessons, Dave has prepared students for auditions in extracurricular ensembles and programs, including the Governor’s Honor Program, Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra, GA All-State Band and Orchestra, GA All-State Jazz Band, Metro Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble, and more.
Dave uses his knowledge of music history to inform the things the students learn. “There is a continuum that music inhabits, and I like to show the evolution of the music that the student is working on through direct lines from other music,” he explains. “The connections between the past and the present.”
Dave isn’t just a teacher—he loves to learn new languages as well. He also enjoys hiking and spending time in the mountains.
