These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things!
Wondering what would make your Metro Music Makers teacher smile? We asked them to tell us some of their favorite things (and the date of their birth!), and thought you might want to know too!
Austin Boyett * 8/2
His favorite color is blue, and his favorite flower is jasmine. He loves to snack on pretzels, Goldfish crackers, and trail mix. He loves all coffee, including black coffee from Starbucks, as well as lime-flavored sparkling water. His favorite restaurants are Chick-fil-A, Salata, and any Mexican restaurant, and his favorite stores are Target, ASOS, West Elm, and IKEA. He loves traveling, cooking, baking, writing, and “shopping for furniture I don’t need,” and Target is his gift card of choice.
Sarah Cauthen * 1/7
Loves purple, chocolate anything, Coca Cola, milkshakes, sweet tea, and lemonade. Her favorite restaurants are Takorea, P.F. Chang’s, Ippolito’s, and any place with Thai food, and she loves to shop at Target, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble. Her favorite flowers are roses and hydrangea, and she enjoys listening to good music, reading, crochet, playing with ferrets and good shows. Her favorite Starbucks beverages are peppermint mochas or other non-holiday mocha or caramel hot drinks.

Her favorite color is gold, her favorite flowers are tulips, and she loves to snack on chocolate covered almonds and barbecue chips. Her favorite drink is vitamin water, and if she’s at Starbucks, it’s a cookie crumble frappuccino. She loves to shop at Amazon, T.J. Maxx, and Marshalls, and if she had to pick one store for a gift card, it would be Amazon. Her favorite restaurants are anything Mexican, and she loves reading, Pinterest and collecting records.
Sandra Evans * 5/13
She likes the colors blue and green, and her favorite flowers are mums. Her favorite restaurants are Chick-fil-A and Chipotle, and she loves snacking on KitKats, Reese’s, Cheetos, and BoomChickaPop Popcorn. She loves classic Coke, but also enjoys a caramel frappucino or write chocolate mocha from Starbucks. Her favorite stores to shop are any music store/record store, Target, and plant stores, and Target is where she would choose to shop with a gift card. She loves creating art of all kinds, including pet portraits for family and friends.
Victor Ezquerra * 6/26
He likes the color blue and tulips. His favorite snacks are beef jerky, gummy anything and fruit, and he enjoys herbal tea and a Starbucks vanilla latte or fruit refresher. His favorite stores to shop at are Amazon, Target, and REI. If he’s eating out, he enjoys pizza places, Thai, ramen, and barbecue. His hobbies are playing the guitar, hiking, and reading, and if he were to receive a gift card, he’d prefer Amazon.
Tony Gibson * 7/23
Loves blue and tulips, but maybe not blue tulips. Favorite snacks are coffee ice cream and chocolate-covered espresso beans. He loves espresso, and his favorite Starbucks order is dopio espresso. His favorite places to shop are Express Men, Buckle and Nadeaus, and he loves to eat at Pappasito’s Cantina, Ipps, and Pure. His hobbies are mountain biking, water skiing, paddleboarding, and motor biking. His favorite gift cards are from Pappasito’s Cantina, Buckle, Stephen David Leonard, and Amazon.
Mark Grundhoefer * 3/7
Loves green, Kettle Chips, donuts, sweet tea, and cold brew coffee at Starbucks. Enjoys Chick-fil-A and Shake Shack, and shopping at music stores, especially reverb.com. Besides playing music, he enjoys playing disc golf and video games (PS4). (Allergic to flowers and cats.)
J.T. Lee * 3/24
Loves blue, Twizzlers, Skittles and coffee. Enjoys shopping at H&M, and loves to eat at any burger joint. Enjoys music, movies, and baseball, and his Starbucks drink of choice is a venti caramel macchiato with almond milk and four shots. He loves music and baseball.

Her favorite color is green, and sunflowers are her favorite flowers. She enjoys salt and vinegar chips, anything spicy, and anything with peanut butter. She loves to drink coffee, Diet Coke, and iced green tea, and her go-to Starbucks order is Iced coffee with vanilla and almond milk. She loves to eat at any Mexican restaurant or a place with good vegetarian options.She enjoys shopping at Target and T.J. Maxx. If she’s not at work, she’s probably reading, spending time with friends and family, watching movies, or enjoying outdoor activities and, of course, music! Her favorite stores for a gift card are Target and Amazon.
Benjamin McClendon * 3/20
His favorite snack is Lemon Creme Oreos, and his favorite drink is, yep, lemonade. He likes the color red, and his favorite flowers are sunflowers. He loves to shop at Nautica, Adidas, and Old Navy, and to eat at Zaxby’s, Jinya Ramen Bar, and Cook Out. In his free time, he loves playing music, creating music on GarageBand and Finale, and playing video games. Zaxby’s is his favorite gift card.
Nita McKoy * 6/12
Loves purple, Peanut Butter M&Ms, caramel popcorn, cookies and cream ice cream, and Doritos. She loves to drink Diet Dr. Pepper and Coke, as well as anything caramel from Starbucks. She loves to shop at Macy’s and DSW Shoe Warehouse and eat at Italian restaurants. She loves hot pink roses, and she enjoys singing, playing piano, games, shooting pool, playing games and cards, and attending concerts. (Allergic to many foods, cats, and some dogs.)

Her favorite colors are blue and dark green, and she loves sunflowers. Her snacks of choice are pretzels, chips and queso, and apples and peanut butter. She loves Spindrift Sparkling Water and coffee—especially cold brew and peppermint mochas from Starbucks. Her favorite stores to shop are Target, Etsy, Barnes & Noble, Urban Outfitters and American Eagle. She loves eating at Slim Chickens, Chipotle, and Panera Bread, not to mention any burger, Mexican, or pizza joint. She enjoys running, reading, and anything outdoors. Her gift card store of choice is Target.
Abigail Sykes * 10/24
Loves sage green or peach, and hydrangeas are her favorite flower to display. She loves to snack on fruit or Peanut Butter M&Ms, and her favorite drinks are Diet Coke or grapefruit sparkling water. She’s not a coffee drinker, but does enjoy Starbucks’ summertime teas. A big thrifter, she loves shopping at Target, T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods. For fast food, she chooses Chick-fil-A or Taco Bell. She enjoys interior decor/design, reading, hiking, and camping.
Kristen Van Dyke * 6/17
Loves snack foods and sweet treats, warm beverages from Starbucks (especially in the fall and winter!). Loves shopping at Target and Amazon and trying new restaurants with her family. She loves bright, colorful flowers, watching Netflix/Hulu with her hubby, getting to experience life through the eyes of her two-year-old son Noah, and taking family walks outside!
