Every Child Should Have the Opportunity to Learn How to Play an Instrument

In 2010, Metro Music Makers partnered with local charity, Act Together Ministries, to develop a scholarship program for children and teens in the Act Together Ministries program. Act Together is determined to change the plight of children living in distress in the North Atlanta area, and you may read more about the charity’s mission at www.actogetherministries.org.  Act Together qualifies the children and teens who are eligible to receive one of our music scholarships.

We are thrilled that our students and their families have donated at various time to support the funding for these scholarships! Their generous donations have helped to provide the instruments, sheet music and in-home music lessons to the students who have been awarded scholarships. Since January of 2011, we have been able to provide 5 scholarships to children and teens in North Fulton.

Our goal is to award scholarships to new students this Fall, and our students and staff are already doing what they can to support the scholarships! This Friday Metro Music Makers will be hosting a showcase at Ragamuffin Music Hall in historic Roswell. This showcase will feature several of our advanced students and staff, and they are performing for the scholarship cause. All of our proceeds from this show will go towards the scholarship program for Fall 2012.  So, grab your friends and join us for a fun evening of music. At the same time you’ll be helping to make a child’s dream of music lessons come true!!
