Skyler Boardley is a classically trained vocal coach with a Bachelor of Music degree from Virginia State University. Skyler learned to read music by playing classical music on the piano, and she loves helping students with the same foundation. She took up an independent study of music theory in high school, which she continued to build on during college and beyond. Skyler is skilled in teaching many different genres for voice and piano lessons, including R&B, pop, classical, gospel, and more. She has a strong performance history in a variety of genres as well. In fact, she is an R&B/soul recording artist with six studio projects under her belt!
Skyler was most recently the music teacher at Dunleith Elementary School. She has experience as a music director for a theater company, an after-school program coordinator, a counselor for summer camps, a music teacher for preschool and elementary schools, a volunteer for several organizations, and a private piano and voice teacher.
Skylar explains her goals in teaching music: “I want to inspire music lovers and build confidence through guided lessons.”
She continues, “I help them prepare for auditions, and I often attend their performances!”
As of late, Skylar has established an after-school program for children, where she created an interactive, fun, and educational curriculum to teach music. Dedicated to her YouTube community, she consistently posts vocal tutorials to help singers around the world!
Skylar enjoys songwriting and walking the Beltline with her dog. She loves R&B, and her favorite place is anywhere that sells coffee and chocolate chip cookies!
