Education/Certifications: 

• Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Choral Concentration)/Minor in Disability Studies, University of Delaware
• Master of Arts in Music Therapy, Immaculata University
• Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)

Music Teaching/Therapy Experience:

• Private music teacher and early childhood instructor for over 15 years in Delaware, Georgia, and North Carolina 
• Worked for nine years as a music therapist with children of all ages with varying diagnoses in private practice and in facilities such as pediatric hospitals, assisted living communities, and an adolescent eating disorder program
• Worked with Metro Music Makers in Atlanta for seven years as a teacher and therapist and served on the administrative team, helping to oversee music therapy operations, mentoring new teachers, and assisting with event planning and social media

For the last 15 years, Kristen has taught in a variety of school settings in addition to private teaching. Her instruments are voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele. She also specializes in early childhood music classes. Kristen began working with Metro Music Makers in 2016 after relocating from Delaware to Atlanta. She was a part of the teaching team, therapy team, and administrative team. 

Kristen was sad to say goodbye to Metro Music Makers in 2023 due to a move from Atlanta to Charlotte with her family. Since becoming a mom, her passion for child development and the role that music can play has only increased. Her philosophy is that music can be accessible for EVERYONE and can be a powerful tool in many aspects of life, even outside of the music lesson. Kristen is thrilled to once again be a part of the Metro Music Makers team, this time growing a Charlotte branch of the company. 

Kristen resides in Charlotte with her husband, two children, and dog. She loves baking, being outside, and spending time with her family.
