Isaac Lugo, MT-BC, is a music therapist and music instructor. He teaches bass, guitar, voice, and piano. He teaches across nearly any style of music, but his personal favorites to both learn and teach are jazz and metal.
Isaac has a Bachelor’s Degree from Queens University, and he completed his music therapy internship at Levine’s Cancer Institute before becoming a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC).
“Music means something different to us all, so my goal is to help my students realize what it looks like to seek the answer,” Isaac shares. “Passing along what I was taught and creating new paths for my learners to go down is my mission.”
“I tell my students often to think of their music like an adventure; there’s lots to explore and lots of time to do the exploring,” he continues.
Known as a patient and understanding teacher, Isaac tries to meet his students where they are in their musical journey. “Although I won’t be able to fully relate, I make it a point to be mindful of where they are in their journey towards making music and make my students aware that I am there to witness their story,” he shares.
Isaac loves to read—he reads across varied subjects and is currently trying to broaden his horizons with some genres he hasn’t read in the past. “I also like to mess with modular synthesizers for fun (like the Intro music to Stranger Things)!” he shares.
