Sheridan Harley, LPMT, MT-BC, is a music therapist and music instructor. She teaches beginning classical piano, and as a voice teacher, she specializes in classical voice and classical and contemporary musical theatre.
After over 15 years of receiving private vocal coaching, Sheridan studied at Brigham Young University-Idaho and graduated with a B.A. in Music with a Vocal emphasis. From 2022 to 2025 in Winchester, Virginia, Sheridan worked in her private music studio, the Sheridan Harley Music Studio, serving anywhere from 10 to 15 students at a time. She went on to obtain her graduate certification in Music Therapy from Shenandoah University Conservatory and became a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) in September of 2025.
“I focused on creating and sustaining ‘joy in the journey,’ as well as working to accomplish goals,” Sheridan shares. “I centered my practice around supporting my students’ confidence in music and themselves. I taught with empathy and compassion, while still maintaining personal and professional boundaries and expectations.”
Sheridan loves supporting her students by attending their performances, as well as helping them prepare for those performances with supplemental materials. She also provides practice schedules and strategies from the beginning to support their growth.
“I believe that everyone is capable of creating joyful moments through meaningful musical experiences,” Sheridan shares. “I will do everything within my power to support and guide students through difficult situations that will help them become confident not just in their musicianship, but who they are as a person.”
Five of Sheridan’s students auditioned for and were selected to perform in regional honor choirs for two years. One student was nominated to attend the Governor’s Honors Program as a vocalist. Another student was cast as Glinda in The Wizard of Oz.
Sheridan loves to craft and bake, and she also enjoys most things outdoors—”except for running,” she clarifies.
“I have two incredible little boys who keep me busy,” shares Sheridan, who has lived in seven different states! Her favorite styles of music are musical theatre, alternative rock, folk/country, and oldies. “My very first solo was at 11 years old, and I sang half of the song Part of Your World, dressed as a mermaid,” she remembers.
