Alexander has been teaching piano and keyboard to students at beginner and intermediate levels since 2012, something he cares deeply about. “I just enjoy helping people,” he shares. “Music is something that I am very passionate about, and I wish to share that passion with others.”
In addition to teaching private lessons and teaching students at school, Alexander writes his own music. He has performed two solo concerts of original material, and he won the Iowa Composers Forum Student Composer Competition in 2023.
Alexander has great advice for his students: “Collaborate.” He continues, “Make music together with your friends and family members. It’s so much more rewarding.”
Alexander is proud of his half-Greek, half-Puerto Rican heritage. He loves retro video games, specifically Pokémon and Mario games, and he owns a huge collection of music (over 800 albums!), with the biggest chunk of those being progressive rock. Alexander has an unexpected talent: he is a puccalo, or a professional whistler!
