Student Spotlight: Andy Miller

Eleven-year-old Andy is studying piano with senior instructor Chelsea Sefzik. (He also recently began taking violin at Metro Music Makers!) Chelsea sat down with Andy recently and asked him some fun questions to get to know him better.

Why did you choose to study piano?
“Because my brother plays the piano and I like it because it’s a challenge. I like challenges.”

What kind of music do you like to listen to? Who’s your favorite band or musician?
“Pop. . . I don’t know who I like, I just listen. “

What do you love about music?
“It’s like a problem that I get to figure out how to fix.”

What do you like to do when you’re not playing music?
“Soccer or chess and I like to go out on our boat in lake Lanier.”

Do you play any sports or do any other activities outside of music lessons?
“Soccer.”

What’s your favorite food? Favorite candy?
“I like a lot of foods. . . Hershey’s anything.”

What’s your favorite subject in school?
“I like math.”

If you were going to be on a reality TV show, would you rather be on American Idol, The Voice, or America’s Got Talent? Why?
America’s Got Talent because it’s not just singing. I can’t sing.”

What do you want to be when you grow up?
“No clue. . . just me.”
